In 1989, VDS-Crustocean and the Seychelles Marketing Board (SMB) started to cooperate in various areas:
- Feasability study, construction and management of an aquafeed feedmill (in production since 1995, capacity 2 tonnes/hour)
- Shrimpfeed production for intensive P.monodon culture at the local Coetivy shrimpfarm
- Export shrimpfeed production for semi-intensive P.monodon culture in Madagascar, Mozambique and Tanzania. (semi-intensive with cold and rainy season feed)
- Livestock feedmill management: feed production for poultry, livestock and pets
- Chicken hatchery management
- Chicken slaughterhouse management
The results obtained with Crustocean-SMB feed are among the best in the world.
This fruitful cooperation ended in 2008 due to the privatisation and sale of the different parts of the semi-public SMB group.
